Aracuri Merlot Safra 2010 entre os melhores vinhos do Brasil

The National Evaluation of Wines in Brazil is the largest event of its kind of activity in the world. About 750 panelists consisted by winemakers, sommeliers, journalists, and wine lovers from different countries gathered in Bento Gonçalves on September 25th 2010 to celebrate this Brazilian wine event. 260 samples from 55 wineries were blind-tasted by over 87 winemakers from all over Brazil, which have been split into 3 tasting panels. Each panel contained 29 wine experts. The whole tasting lasted 15 mornings. The whole procedure was following the international standards established by International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and International Union of Enologists (UIOE). In the list of National Evaluation of Wines - Vintage 2010, Wine Aracuri Merlot was awarded the 30% top of the best dry red wines.

Organized by Brazilian Association of Oenology (ABE) since 1993, the event has been played a decisive role in the Brazilian wine evolution, serving as a parameter to the winegrowers. Unique in the world, this event was just hold for Brazilians for many years. But this year, the wine evaluation also invited the participation of wine experts from other countries such as Germany, Argentina, Chile, Spain, United States, Britain, Italy, Poland, Switzerland and Uruguay. * Summary of article published in the ABE page, September 2010.
